Unfortunately, due to Natural Resources Wales being unable to process our application for use of Canaston Woods (“staff long-term sickness and staff shortages with an ongoing recruitment freeze”), we are unable to host our Nobbler 10k and Half Marathon in the woods on the 25th of August.
Fear not, we have a plan! We have decided to move the start location to Crymych. There are some stunning trails there, and we are able to host a few more runners than we could at Canaston Woods.
This also gives us the opportunity to pay tribute to Marc Beasley, a local runner (cyclist etc) from Crymych who sadly passed away earlier in the year. A regular at all Nobbler events, if Marc wasn’t racing he was helping out, strimming courses, marshalling and generally being a big positive force who will be missed by us all at Nobbler events. Moving to Crymych means we can join in with the occasion of remembering Marc and raising funds for his charitable memorial fund.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to CRY and Crymych RFC juniors (Marc’s memorial fund).
We know this is not what some of you signed up for, so we are happy to offer refunds to anyone. We are allowing more runners at the new location, so if you missed out on a place before you can now enter the 10k or Half Marathon.
If you are happy to participate in the new location, you don’t need to do anything and more information about the event will be sent to you in due course. The event date remains as the 25th of August 2024.
